Growth Groups

GROWTH GROUPS ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF ALL THAT WE DO AT BRIDGEWAY CHURCH!


The mission statement of Bridgeway Church is, “Bringing people into life-changing relationships with Jesus Christ and each other.” Alongside our mission statement, one of our core values is “Authentic Community.” This simply means that no person should have to discover and engage in his or her own journey with God alone.


Growth Groups typically consist of about 10-15 people and are a great way to meet others, make lasting friendships, grow in a relationship with God, and make a difference in the life of someone else. Growth Groups offer our best environment of ministry care, support, and connection. We encourage everyone to get involved in a Growth Group this season.


This fall season some groups will be in-building and some will be online via Zoom, for those who are not yet comfortable meeting in-person.


There are two ways you can sign up for a Growth Group:


1) You can sign up right here by scrolling below and reviewing our catalogue and submitting a form by clicking the Register link below. 


2)  You can also visit the Growth Group Information Table in the atrium – ask any question you may have and register there with assistance if needed.

Our spring growth groups begin the first week of February and are done by early June. There are groups happening 7 days a week for you to choose from.  We offer groups for men, woman, singles, and more. You can view our list of Spring groups below.  Once you have read through this season’s groups at Bridgeway, simply click the “Sign-Up” button to register.

Each group has it’s own individual “Sign Up” button.  Once you have reviewed this season’s group in their entirety, simply select the group you would like to be a part of. You will be contacted by your group leader with specific details after registering or one our staff members.

Sometimes referred to as “the 5th Gospel”, connecting with “the Land” will deepen your love and understanding of God’s Word as it is illuminated by the geography, history, culture and the people of the Bible.

    Divorce is a terrible experience. The Divorce Care group was established to allow men and women who have had this experience the opportunity to heal properly. The group uses professional video and workbook exercises to guide participants through a 13-week journey. Each week the group will review Bibically-based approaches to challenges that divorce brings. Issues like anger, grief, loneliness, and conflict resolution are covered in detail. Each meeting also includes a discussion during which members support each other through this season. Individuals are welcome to enter the group at any point. Please do not suffer alone. We will walk with you.

    The Psalms are well loved for a reason.   Where else in the Bible do we find a book as large and varied  and fun and useful as the book of Psalms? Meditating upon them will lead us to an encounter with the risen Christ.  In this study, Ray Ortlund will help us see that the Psalms are a place that God has provided to meet Him and find help, rest, honesty, hope, courage, joy, and so much more.     This group will meet twice a month and learn what it means to hold onto our hope and faith without wavering when the trials, setbacks and failures of life feel relentless.  Hebrews 11 gives us a lot of inspiration of faith when faced with difficulties that try to define us.  Through hope in Christ, you can become the woman who weathers the storms of life with renewed strength and confidence in who God IS and who He says you are.  "Let us hold on to the confession of our Hope without wavering, since He who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23

    We will be using the book Rediscovering Israel: A Fresh Look at God's Story in its Middle Eastern and Historical Context, along with the Bible, to survey Genesis through The Revelation, stringing together Biblical pearls, to encounter the Bible as one cohesive story-line, rather than a book of stand-alone accounts.  The goals: To celebrate the richness of Scripture, to fellowship, form friendships, and support each other in prayer, and to discover that God is even better than we knew!

    Have you ever thought "I cant keep doing this something has to change?"," I have tried everything and nothing works" or   " I fear I'm becoming someone I don't recognize, or like".  Last semester we studied the book and the video series. We are now going to go deeper with Good Boundaries, in a Bridgeway Table talk forum. Each week we will work through a chapter and discover how to apply this information to our lives. Boundaries are not just a good thing, they are a God thing, a tool God has given us to live a Christ centered life.

    We are a group made up primarily of young families who are seeking to go through life together. We spend time in group focused on community, learning, and prayer. This semester we are reading the book, Core Christianity by Michael Horton. Our group meets weekly on Monday nights from 6:00-7:30 PM at Bridgeway Church and childcare is provided. Each week we will discuss a chapter of the book as well as the greater topic as a whole. We hope you join us in better understanding the theology of the Bible as well as how it is relevant to your daily life.

    A Psalm for Every Situation (by Lisa Harper)

    We sometimes feel like we need to curate our emotions when we talk to God. But God wants us to come to him honestly, no matter what we are feeling or going through. Join Bible teacher Lisa Harper as she teaches from the book of Psalms looking at the variety of circumstances faced by followers of God. In this eight-session series, we learn how to find comfort in any situation based on this songbook of the people of God.

    In this series, pastor Matt Chandler takes us through the Beatitudes and shows us what it means to live in the kingdom of God. As we meet, we'll wrestle with Jesus' challenging message and seek to deepen our walk as His followers and build stronger relationships with brothers and sisters.

    Being single is not a curse or a waiting period until the best things come. Singleness is a beautiful and unique opportunity to live a life devoted to Christ. It can be lonely as a single in church. Much of the singles content that's out there centers around finding a relationship and being whole enough for a relationship but not for Jesus. As a community of believers let us not miss out on the call of God simply because we don't have a spouse or relationship. So if you're looking for a community in the same walk of life, a new group of friends, or a group to help you walk in your purpose with Jesus, this just might be the group for you!

After relocating across the country four times in the last eight years, the Finsterbushes learned the importance of connecting with other families and creating close bonds through fellowship; supporting one another through life’s ups and downs.     Bridgeway's Prayer Shawl Ministry is designed to share God's healing touch and comforting spirit through a crocheted or knitted blanket or shawl. Each is hand made by faith filled people who love the Lord and have prayed over each stitch as they are constructed. These items represent Jesus' loving arms enveloping the recipient in warmth, comfort, healing and peace. If you would like to be part of this amazing ministry but do not know how to crochet or knit we have people willing to teach you. Come join us and see how God is working through this special ministry in our church and beyond.

    We are starting a new series on the study of Romans reading and discussing the rich book verse by verse. We are using the Romans by the Journible which encourages each person to write out each word and journal notes and comments. This is to help us to slow down and think every word more carefully and deeply as would a scribe in the old days when copying the Bible. We have a strong group of men who are committed to study the word and now writing their meditation.
